I LOVE PARIS (QUAND CE N'EST PAS LA FASHION WEEK)

Artist Josué Thomas presents I Love Paris (when it’s not fashion week), a photographic meditation on the city beyond its most visible moments.

The project began without intention. Thomas photographed Paris, without the plan of making a book. Yet the result is a body of work that questions our assumptions: that Paris is animated, creative, and international only during Fashion Week.

Moving from the United States to Europe, Thomas reflects on how changes shapes vision. It is in unfamiliar rhythms that artistic practice finds renewal.

In this work, calm is not absence — it is voltage. Creativity surfaces in intervals, between events, when habit gives way to perception. Thomas’s Paris is effervescent, even when the spotlight shifts elsewhere.

This is not a rejection of Fashion Week, but its counterpoint — a reminder that creativity exceeds calendars.
